Tutoring Sessions Are...Unconventional. If you or your student is struggling in class, it means conventional methods are not working. I prefer to think outside typical conventions by creating games, utilizing various technologies (ex. podcasts, iPad applications), and by allowing the student to control how they learn, not the educator.
Student-controlled. You set when, where, how long, etc. Education is about the student, not the teacher. We'll set our own benchmarks for reviews. You tell me how you're struggling or show me your homework/tests, etc, and I'll build custom sessions just for you.
Flexible. Lessons one session, homework help the next? Sure. It's all up to you. Different subjects from one session to the next? No problem.
At Comfortable Meeting Location. People learn best when they feel the most comfortable. Sessions are held wherever the student feels the most comfortable: at their home, at the library, at a local coffee shop, etc.

Common Problems with LearningTogether, we can explore why you are struggling. There could be a single reason, a combination of several, or an underlying issue completely separate from schoolwork.
Anxiety. Nervousness, sweaty palms, racing heart, panic
Lack of self-confidence. Worried you’ll do poorly again simply because you did poorly the last time
Lack of self-esteem. Worried that no matter how much you studied you’ll fail— because that’s what you always do.
Lack of connection to subject matter. You memorize the information one or two ways, but when it’s presented in a different way than how you memorized it, you freeze.
Lack of knowledge of the subject matter. Overconfidence that you know the material led to a decision not to study
Lack of interest. You don’t see the importance of the information; it is not of interest, and therefore did nothing to prepare for the test or class
Learning disabilities. Dyslexia, ADD, ADHD, and/or other medical issues
